As far as Cyber Monday goes, um...you're on your own with those crowds. Good Luck
Hey there Tyler, thanks so very much for stopping in. So excited to have you here on the Naughty Playhouse Blog. Let's start with my list of questions.
Piper: How long have you been writing?
Tyler: I have been writing for a while now, but only had the courage to let others read in the past year and a half.
Piper: A huge congratulation to you on the release of your very first novel, Angel of Darkness. Tyler is my lit/publishing sister from Hot Ink Press. She is currently ranking as a Best Seller at #4 on Amazon in Dark Fantasy and #10 in Gay, also ranking international in about 4-5 other countries also. How does that make you feel, Tyler? I absolutely love it. You should be very proud,. I am.
Tyler: I am SO proud! Shocked! Excited! But I will say that I am proud of myself. It was a big deal for me to get my work-out and I knew I was taking a chance with a different story. It makes me happy beyond words that people are enjoying it.
Tyler: I’m a plotter. I have an overall plot in my head as I write. Sometimes I stir off course, but the end zone is always a plot I have in mind before I start a story.
Piper: When you sat down to write Angel of Darkness, you probably had a good idea about the main characters, right? (Am I the only weird one who doesn’t do this?) From what you originally thought until the final outcome, how much did they change?
Tyler: Originally, I wanted the story to focus on Christian and Zander. Overall it does that, but there are other characters that popped in mind while writing and I played with them more. I would say that most of the characters stayed the way I had them planned.
Piper: Lucky you girl. I have characters going to war inside my head fighting over the lead. I've also had characters who were supposed to have one scene, and they took over and I had no choice but to run with them on it-they know better than I do. It's how The Passion Series turned into a series in the first place, and also how "Sparky" came into play and got his own book I can't make them, behave, I've tried to. lol
Piper: Where in the world did you come up with the idea of a blind vampire? It’s different and I like that about any book.
Tyler: I wanted something original. Fresh. I’ve never read a story about a blind vampire, not that they’re not out there; I just have never read one. Especially a M/M one. I researched blindness and sixth senses to make it as real as possible.
Piper: You did a great job of it. Let's pop in a teaser here.
Tyler: Gasp! What? I’m not talking to you anymore! ~ducks again!~ LOL. You are given a pass my friend. The story takes place in present day, but we seem glimpses as to why Christian has had this obsession with vampires and why he feels so close to Zander. He doesn’t believe in love at first sight, but Zander shows him there’s a reason why!
Piper: Which was your favorite character to write and why?
Tyler: I love my characters…all of them. Zander would be my favorite in this one though.
Piper: Give me your top 5 favorite authors and top 5 favorite books. (any genre)
Tyler: Top 5….wow. ok let’s see…….truthfully I don't. have favorites. I read books, lots of books. I love the author at the time and the story. So at that moment the book I’m reading is my favorite, but to say I have a favorite….not really.
Piper: You answered that loaded question like a pro.. Good girl hahaha! So, are you reading anything right now, if so, what is it and who is the author?
Tyler: I am reading Between a Rock and A hard place.
Tyler: Coming up in February 2015 I have a m/m mystery called Silver & Black. It’s not paranormal. Actually, the rest I write, with exception to the spin-off of AOD, won’t be. Speaking of that, I have a spinoff of Angel in the works called Darkest Regret. I hope to have that released in mid 2015 as well.
Piper: OMG, I just had an early morning squeeeee with the news of a second part. Oh and p.s. I would love to have you back around for Silver and Black too.
Piper: What is the one thing you hope readers will learn or take away with them after finishing one of your stories?
Tyler: Tolerance. To love no matter what. That being different isn't always bad. To be yourself.
Piper: Amen. Mine is similar to yours, I hope that a reader is able to step away knowing that there is one person out there who understands them and that it is okay to be who they were meant to be.
