Evan is hiding his urges for other men the only way he knows how--by pretending to live a life of wenching, and by seeking the needle of tattoo artists who impart a kind of guilty pain. But when he meets Gabe, owner of the Twisted Cherry tattoo parlor, he can’t hide his desire for the hot and sexy guy. Gabe, openly gay, proceeds to show Evan how he can be tattooed not just by a needle, but by stinging hot love too.

NEXT HERE IS THE TEASER FOR SPARKY - PASSION'S PRIDE - BOOK III OF THE PASSION SERIES.
Balls out. It’s been eight months today and we’re having a little get together to celebrate. I’m even going all Betty Crocker on him and baking a cake. He thinks it’s silly, but I’ll play it off, like I do with a lot of things.
I do this once a month for us, so that we all stay in touch. It’s like having my own family, we’ve all gotten pretty close. I guess having some sort of connection after that whack-job, Aaron, had something to do with it, I don’t much care. I’m just grateful for my family. Everyone should be here soon. The only thing left to do is frost the cake and wait for the festivities to begin.
The bedroom door squeaks and heavy footsteps come down the hallway. I turn to greet Ash.
“There’s my hunkalicious.” I wink, then pounce on him and climb up like a tree-frog. I lock my legs around his waist and hang on for dear life.
“Serge, you’re going to break my back doing that one day,” Ash laughs then runs his hands under my ass for support.
“A big strong man like you, I highly doubt it.” I glide my hands around the back of his neck.
“Happy ‘whatever’ anniversary, Serge.” He tosses his head back. I climb up higher then give him a kiss. “What do we call this anyway? With us?”
“Weekend pass at the amusement park?” I grin, then crawl off him.
“I’m serious, Serge. I keep asking you to move in with me, but you won’t and I don’t know why. You tell me you don’t want anyone else, so why not?”
I smirk, it’s just not easy for me to explain it to him. I’m just not there yet. A knock on the door comes and it couldn’t have been better timing.
“Saved by the bell.” I kick my heel up behind me, twist and dart off to answer it.
I yank the door open. “Sparky, my man.” He grabs me in a big hug, practically squishing my bones in two.
“Payce, you handsome devil you.” I pat him on the back, then look around. “Where’s the boss man?”
“Oh please, the boss man? Quit fucking with me, he told me. Brax told me all about your promotion to manager too so that makes you a boss man yourself huh?” He slaps me on the shoulder damn near knocking me into the wall. “Congrats, you should have called me.”
“Thanks. I know I should have. Braxton only wants a tough guy like me on the payroll in case someone gets out of hand, like Aaron did. You know, someone to rough ‘em up a bit.” I laugh, unable to hold it in.
An arm slips around my waist and warm breath blows against the back my neck. “You’re MY personal body guard, Serge.” With one arm, Ash reaches around me, a hand out to Payce.
“Ash.” Payce nods, then shakes hands with him.
We gather in my living room. Let the tension begin, it always does between Ash and Payce and gets pretty thick. Not exactly sure why though.
Cocking my head to the right, I hear Dax and Damien ride up. “Be right back.”
Rushing down the hallway, I swing the front door open.
“Damn dude, chill out.” Dax waves his hands around in some sort of Kung-Fu-Judo movement. “Don’t be pulling those quick Karate moves on me, tough guy.”
“Someone as cute as you, not hardly.” I bring my hand up to cover my fake cough. “Come on in, Payce just got here.”
“You left him alone with Ash?” Damien laughs.
“IKR, we better hurry up. So glad you both came today. How’s it going Damien? Work?” I follow behind them.
“Same shit, different day.” He shrugs his shoulders.
“Be back in a flash.” While everyone says their hellos, I walk away to the kitchen, and get a serving tray for their drinks from under the cabinet.
As I stand back up, the kitchen starts spinning. Dammit, not again. I grab onto the beige countertop so I don’t fall out on my ass right here on the spot. Taking a deep breath, I haunch over trying to slow my heart rate a little. Footsteps approach, it’s Ash, I sense him.
“Baby. Do you need help? What’s wrong.” Panic sweeps throughout his voice and he puts his hand on my back.
“NO. Nothing is wrong, I’m good.” I stand straight up. “Sweetie, I’m okay. I got this.”
“You’re as pale as a ghost, Serge.” He reaches for the tray. “Let me get this.”
“I said I’ve got it, Ash!” I blurt out, not meaning it to sound so rude. “I’m sorry.” I lean against him and give him a kiss, trying to pacify him..
Ash walks off, his feelings are hurt again. I seem to do that a lot lately. This is why I can’t make a decision, can’t commit to moving in with him. One minute I’m completely in love with him, the next…I’m chomping his head off like snapping turtle and have no idea why.
I take the tray, set the bottles on it and strut back in with everyone.
“Cheers.” Bouncing around, I lower the tray for them to choose their drinks.
“About time.” Payce looks at his cell, then up to me. “Not you, Sparky. I'm talking about Braxton. About time he got here.” I set eh tray down and follow as he makes the corner, heading down the hallway toward the front door.
Braxton enters, and Payce slithers his hands around his waist, then drops them lower, clasping his ass in his palms. “I fucking missed you. Real bad if you know what I mean.”
“I do, and I’ll take care of you when we get home.” Brax grins at him and his eyes light up.
Everyone stands as we enter the reunion, party zone. It is so good to see them happy. They both went through so much to get here.
THAT is exactly what I want Ash and I to be like. Survivors in the name of love, no matter who or what odds are stacked against us. Either that or a magic potion. Whichever works..
“You horny bastards.” I laugh at them, while one flips me off and the other grins ear to ear. They so know me too well.
Perching myself sideways across Ash’s lap, I lean into him, and his arm wraps around my side. Chills spread throughout me as I kiss him.
“I fucking love you.” Ash moans, deeply, into my ear, then kisses me on the shoulder.
“Ahem.” Excuse the interruption, Damien’s voice, demanding and insistent, distracts me. Dax grabs his hand. “What is everyone doing this New Years? If you have plans, cancel. Dax and I have a surprise, but we’re not going to mention anything else about it. Just be at our house, okies?”
If that means what I think it does, then squeeeeeeeeee! I hope it does, I really do.
Damien jerks Dax by the neck, pulling him back, then gives him a kiss. Rawr. I glance over to Payce and Brax, who are knee deep in smiles with each other. I am so proud and happy for my family here. As Ash tightens his grip on my hip, I twist in his lap, and curl my finger to him.
“Bring me that mouth.”
After his lips touch mine, his tongue, warm and smooth, laps around mine several times before I pull back and stand up.
“Damn! Tease.” Ash laughs at me.
I sink myself into those gorgeous eyes. Suddenly, the room begins to spin and get fuzzy. I’m dizzy again, what the hell is going on with me. I blink, trying to clear the haze but it’s not working. Ash’s lips are moving, but I can’t hear him over the ringing in my ears.
As I try to focus, his face muscles tense, and I realize he’s yelling. His left arm reaches out for me when my knees bend, finally buckling beneath me.
I’m going down.
Everything fades into a shadow of silver-charcoal gray.
OTHER EVENTS GOING ON THAT YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK OUT FROM MY PUBLISHING HOUSE:
One moment…that’s all it takes for life as you once knew it to change irrevocably. For Michael Kingston, that moment was when he first laid eyes on Gabriel. In his life, Michael had only known darkness, leaving behind a broken shell of a man. Unspeakable memories of his childhood constantly plagued him, causing him to disconnect emotionally from the world. No one had ever shown him love; therefore, he believed that he was unworthy of it. And then everything changed.
Gabriel Greyson had always been different. Growing up in a small, Bible-thumping town, his preferences for men, makeup, and fashion made him an outcast. But, with the support and love of his family, he overcame obstacles that were thrown his way and rose above the intolerance. He danced to the beat of his own glammed-out drum and refused to believe that he was anything other than ultra-fabulous. Working as a beautician, he had a job he adored and felt that everything was perfect in his life. Everything except for true love.
When these two unlikely men meet, sparks fly. For the first time in Michael’s life, he feels like he can overcome the darkness inside him. Gabriel gives him hope and slowly brings him out of the shadows, showing him that even the darkest of souls can be redeemed. But there are secrets that Michael keeps locked away. Michael’s fear is that Gabriel will turn away from him when he discovers the truth. After all, who could ever love a beast?
As I write this blog post, I am currently reading and absolutely loving this story so far. Jaclyn definitely has a new fan in me. So let's get started with the interview and my review will be posted at the end of this.
Piper: Welcome Jaclyn and thanks for taking the time to stop by the Naughty Playhouse Blog and tolerate my random questions. So you just came out with your very first book, Michael's Awakening. How does it feel to be a published author now?
Jaclyn: It feels weird, but awesome. I never thought I'd get to this point, so it's definitely a dream come true..
Piper: You're published through Encompass Ink, what made you decide to go with the company?
Jaclyn: Well, I've been passionate about M/M stories for a while. When I first started writing “Michael's Awakening,” I had no clue which company to even consider and honestly thought I'd just have to go with the self-published route, which was fine because so many awesome authors do. But then, a great friend *cough* Tyler May *cough* told me about Encompass Ink. After looking it up, I knew it was the place for me.
Piper: YAY for us at Encompass. As one of your lit sisters now, I'm thrilled you did. Tyler rocks btw. lol
Piper: Are you a seasoned M/M fan, as well as writer? How long have you been writing and what made you decide to go with this genre?
Jaclyn: I actually came across M/M by chance. The first book I read that had gay characters was “The Song of Achilles” by Madeline Miller. Now, that book is a historical novel about the Hero Achilles and his journey to Troy. I'm a massive history nerd, so anything to do with Ancient Greece or Rome, count me in. The book wasn't targeted as a gay romance, but sure enough, it was. And I freaking loved it. After that, I intentionally looked for an M/M story and found the first Invicta book. *grin* I don't read anything else.
As for writing, "Michael's Awakening was the first M/M story I wrote. Before that I was just a fan of the genre. Then one day, a snarky, sassy, but sweet character jumped in my head and wouldn't shut up. And thus, Gabriel was born. lol
Piper: How long have you been writing?
Jaclyn: I've been writing since I was in the 6th grade and have always loved creating stories. As I got older, I became a roleplayer on Facebook for several book series, such as Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter Series. So, I did a LOT of writing, but it made me want to create my own characters, instead of just revamping someone elses. People told me that I have a way with words and a few of my best friends encouraged me to start writing a book. :)
Piper: Tell us about Michael? How did his story develop?
Jaclyn: *laughs* People who have read the book may find this funny. I wanted to kick Michael's ass in the beginning stages of my book, the little bugger refused to tell me his story. At first, instead of a Prosecuting Attorney, he was a History Professor in College. Gabriel was a Music Major and took his class for an elective and that's how they met. But, it never felt right. I'd poke Michael-- trying to figure him out-- and he wouldn’t budge. I'd get frustrated, throw a tantrum, and threaten to give him horrible diseases if he didn’t open up. Then, one day, I had the vision of him sitting in the dark, drinking a glass of whiskey and reliving something horrible. That's when I saw the scars. Everything made sense after that.
Piper: I love that, love it. I've had several characters do the same thing, so I totally get it.
Piper: Pantster or plotter?
Jaclyn: Oh Lawd have mercy. I think I’m a combination. Plotting isn't easy for me because I tend to overthink everything and then get frustrated or stuck. The character usually comes to me before the story does. So, I then have to figure out what the heck they're trying to tell me. I do basic plotting after that, but nothing too big.
Piper: Is Michael’s Awakening part of a series or a solo?
Jaclyn: It's a standalone, but I'm working on a second book with a different set of main characters. But, Gabriel and Michael will for sure make several appearances in it.
Piper: Did you base any of your characters on real life people or is he just one of the men that live in your head?
Jaclyn: For Gabriel, he was somewhat inspired by an adorable, feminine man I saw while at Starbucks. He was wearing a headset and talking to someone, trying to decide what they wanted to drink (yes, I eavesdropped) He worked at the salon beside the coffee shop and had made a trip in on his break. His makeup was flawless and his hair was short and blond. So freaking cute.
Michael wasn't based off of anyone. That's one reason why he was so hard to figure out. But knowing him now, I can see why it took so long for him to open up to me.
Piper: What are your feelings on the nationwide ruling? Any characters getting married? Lol
Jaclyn: OMG I was so happy about the ruling that I cried several times. It's beautiful and ABOUT FREAKING TIME! As for any characters getting married... *smirks*
Piper: I totally get it. I was a blubbering mess myself and so excited I couldn't stand it. You are right, about damn time. When I started writing, I've been all about be who you really are and finally we have a nation wide ruling that allows this to be done. I couldn't be more proud of our country now.
Piper: Do you consider being an author as your career?
Jaclyn: Yes. It's what I want/need to do with my life. Nothing else makes sense to me. I feel like I was born to write, plain and simple.
Piper: Well you are absolutely amazing at what you do.
Piper: Any advice for new writers?
Jaclyn: Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it. If you are passionate about it and work your butt off, you can do anything. I never thought I'd make it as a published author and I NEVER thought that my book would be sitting in the Top for as long as it did. Dreams do come true. Take control of yours <3
Pier: What do you consider to be the hardest challenge in being an author?
Jaclyn: The criticism. I've received some nasty reviews about my book and I'd be lying if I said they didn't feel like a sledgehammer to my chest. Putting your work out there is scary, but so worth it.
Piper: Sweetie...it's in our nature to be sensitive. I've been published for a few years, and a bad review can crush me in a heartbeat. It goes with the flow, but we tend to wear our hearts on our sleeves. You just keep kicking amazon ranks girl, you so got this and I'm very proud of you.
Piper: Who or what is your inspiration?
Jaclyn: The men in my head are my inspiration (Damn, makes me sound nuts, huh? Hahahaha) I believe in love and happiness and feel like that's something everyone deserves. I write M/M because it makes me happy and I'm passionate about it.
Pip;er: Tell us about your muse? Mine is a bipolar bitch. Lol
Jaclyn: My muse reminds me a lot of Gabriel, but more temperamental sometimes lol He will wake me up all through the night blabbing and making me restless, but then when I sit down to write, the little jerk will shut his mouth and grin mischievously. But other times, we're cool. lol
Piper: What do we have to look forward to from you for the rest of 2015?
Jaclyn: I have a novella being released September 4th called “Dear Adam.” It's definitely something different than what I've written before *bites nails anxiously* but I hope it goes over well.
I'm also working on the second story to “Michael's Awakening,” as well as about five other stories lol They range in time periods and genre, but they are all still M/M. I love my boys too much to stray. I doubt they will all be done by the end of this year, but keep a look out for them ;)
Now a quick round, first thing that comes to mind.
Favorite color? Red.
Favorite author? Soooo not fair. All the M/M authors are great :) but besides that, I'd have to say J.K Rowling.
Favorite food? Pizza
Favorite quote? “Rise and rise again, until lambs become lions.”
Summer or winter? Winter!
Boxers or briefs? (your preference) Boxers
Favorite song? Depends on the day. Right now, it's “All These Things I Hate” by Bullet for my Valentine.
Book boyfriend? All of them..bahahaha! I guess I'd have to say Achilles from “The Song of Achilles.” I'm re-reading it <3
TV Series? Game of Thrones

Have you ever heard the phrase
"hell hath no fury like a scorned woman?"
Give you one guess who's scorned.
That would be me for the last two and a half freaking weeks.
And by the way...those are MY boys you stole, my books, my passwords, my accounts,
and MY WIP'S. (works in progress)
I WANT THEM BACK!
We call it theft and you are more than guilty, not to mention a big fat wuss too. You hide behind your screen as you point to words, flash pictures of my children, then lead me to a checkbox to click on whatever you have hidden behind the fake pages you put up.
I've played your little game and probably clicked on way more things than I even care to think about at this point, not even knowing what they were or are, all because I was/am trying to get my stuff back. Does it give you some big thrill to hold my things? Make you feel all big and bad?
Tough? Superior? In control?
Well let me tell you something. I might not be the sharpest tack in the tote tray,
but what I have is mine and I HAVE worked my ass off for it. Not you, ME! I did that so that
one day my kids could look back and say 'my mom did this!'
I damn sure didn't do it for you to come steal it, whoever the hell you are. And what do you do, besides bully a mother?
When I tell you no to something, you flash up a picture of my kids...Really?
Know what's worse than a scorned woman?
A PISSED OFF MOTHER!
Dude/chick, whatever...hacker person...that's a lethal combination right there.
I might be technology challenged, because everyone knows that technology hates me and there's nothing I can do about it, but something you may not know is that I have determination and I'm very patient, yet persistent. If you think this is going away...
My friends and I have contacted the FBI, so it's just a matter of time.
Hmmm...sounds like that alarm you keep putting on my calendar screen for your takeover of my domain name...please, that's too easy to just replace, so what do you really want?
Do you think that me missing my book release last week was just going to be ignored? That cutting me off from social media would cause me to lay down and just roll over and give up?
I'm pretty sure this blog won't make it 5 minutes, but you know what? It never hurts to try. If I'm even able to post this and any friends of mine see it, they'll share the living shit out of it, and my 'computer literate' buddies will be waiting on you to remove it.
I am still curious about what it is that you want from me though. I should probably warn you, that you flashing up my twitter account to show me you plan to take over my domain name and all my sites if I don't cooperate and click your little boxes...well at first they did intimidate me, but you know what, that was two weeks ago, sorry...OVER two weeks ago. I've been through the grieving process. First disbelief and denial, then fear. I actually thought it might be possible for you to drive me bat shit crazy, especially after deleting my word programs, until I remembered that I'm already bat-shit crazy. Lucky you! Next, I hit acceptance.
Now I'm just pissed the hell off.
AND I'M DONE!
TO MY FRIENDS AND READERS:
Well hi there. Just trying to give this a shot, in a last ditch effort to reach anyone out there on social media, as all my other accounts have been hacked to death. I have no emails, no Fb, twitter, google, linkedin, youtube, anything at the moment. Until a couple days ago, I didn't even have the use of my own cell either. (I have no idea how that was pulled off yet) I spent seven hours on the phone with Toshiba when it first happened and they told me that this hacking took place at the network, bypassing the internet company's security. I have also called the police as well.
Best Buy (it's a computer store near me) removed three remote access into my computer. It has been the most helpless feeling in the world. I am surrounded in technology and had not one way to reach anyone or stop this. Up until now. Remember who you're talking to here, I live out in the boonies and I haven't got the slightest clue how to take on someone like this anyway. Plus, I was terrified of what they would delete or take away next.
Anyway, if you do spot this, would you mind sharing it. I think you all know, just from my story, Joey's Choice, that I am 100% anti-bullying. What I've learned is that the more people who speak up against it, then the less it happens, so I wanted to make you aware of my case now.
To those who were waiting on the final Passion Series book, I'm so sorry, but it's gone, along with numerous other things. I am in the process of rewriting it now, by hand, because this fucktwat won't let me have access to my writing program or internet to type it like I normally do. I just have to believe that Sparky has a better story instead and I'll keep plugging along and have it out to you as soon as possible.
Well, I'm on someone else's computer, so I should go now. I'll try to get access to another one asap and hopefully post again soon.
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!
Hi everyone, welcome to the playhouse. Better yet, welcome to Piper's Pantry-HA!
Okay, just this one time anyway.
Recently I was asked: How do you put bad-itude into a character?
So, I thought I'd write a secret recipe with you, that's not
really a secret at all. Or not once I hit publish on this blog post.
Ready? Let's step into Piper's Pantry-lol
First your begin with a man. He can be any shape or size, age, color, etc. that you desire, totally up to you, and his name's not important at this point, but make sure he's single. We don't want anything to sour the mix. Now that we have him, we're going to peel him. Peel that man right out of his clothes. Some tugging may be required, but be very gentle, it's important not to bruise him..
Now we're going to wash him. Make sure he's super clean, he has some parts that are hard to get behind. ~giggles at hard~ But please trust me on this. You want to make the extra effort now. A man with dirt behind his...parts, is sure to spoil it for everyone. After a thorough clean, gently blot with a towel until somewhat dry. You absolutely don't want to have him completely dry, well because that's just not fun, but maybe a little moist. It gives off that sexy sweating thing that men somehow manage to pull off. ~growl~!
Okay, now that we've gone through the preps, let's have a glass of wine, then get started on a good, old fashioned batch of bad-itude.
Tenderizing and marinating are important, almost as important as the spices themselves, so we'll take it all in order. Now I want you rub him down in some sexy. I always prefer the sexy as sin blend, but some like sexy and shy, it's all a matter of preference. Pour it on him, all over and rub it in good.. Ask him to help out, you'lind he quite enjoys helping too.
Next, lets add a sprinkle of security. We definitely want our man secure. He must be secure in himself, as well as secure in his life, for the most part. Your man must have a "real" job, one with a reliable paycheck, and a benefits package that hopefully include a 401K and dental coverage.. Do not, I repeat, do not add more than a splash though because then he will become arrogant and that leaves a bitter taste in everyone's mouth. This brand is extra good.
Our men are looking good so far, right. Now let's crumble some confidence oh him, because men love confidence and we want our man to really turn it on for any future prospects that may cross his path, we want him memorable.
Now, my favorite part. We need a homegrown scoop of crushed "don't fuck with me's" to go hand in hand with one good, ole fashioned batch of bad-assery. We need him cocky and frisky, and spur of the moment and tough. Everyone grab your cocky-ness jar of spice and douse him with it.
Our boy is looking goooood now, really good.
Now don't forget you can decorate him however you please. Personally, I like mine inked up. It goes perfect with that whole 'don't fuck with me-bad assery' blend, in my opinion, but I know some of you like to tone it down, especially for family occasions and what-nots. I just usually go with a long sleeved leather jacket when those occasions arise.
Is it just me, or is there something missing here? Hmmm...trying to put my finger on it. ~thinking, thinking!~
OOPS, SHAME ON ME. How could I make a boy with bad-itude without it? Completely slipped my mind. The final finishing touch is...
That is right. Our man needs some issues. These can vary in options to suite your taste buds, but it's a must have. See, when our gorgeous guy gods have these kind of looks, well they have to have something else to counter balance it. Issues work good, because there is such a abundant supply in every flavor you could imagine. You just pluck one from the supply line and toss in a leaf or two and wa-laa!
You are now looking at your boy with bad-itude. Why is he called that. Well look at him. total rebel, but so hot you can't stay away from, and those issues...that means he's got a heart in there too. You just have to poke around to find it. Isn't it amazing?
Now go find your boy with baditude, his very own man and let them create your story. I have mine, see?
Yes, it's about like that. lol Today Ann Lister's in the naughty seat here in the playhouse. and I
couldn't be more thrilled. Ann is also our Author of the month as well. That is located in
the drop down menu when you hover over the My Precious...sss tab up top.
So let's get started...
Ann: Thanks so much for agreeing to come here and do my little interview. Not sure if you could tell or not, but a big fan of yours. You are a great author. When did you decide to start writing, was it something you always knew you’d do, or was it a surprise and just sort of happened?
Ann: In the beginning I did it to entertain my friends and family, but the more short stories I created, the more I wanted to do it on a serious level. This was back in the 1990's. I would take bits and pieces from my dreams and create stories from that. Over the years it has snowballed to an obsession. I don't think I could stop writing now if I was mandated by the courts to do so. LOL
Me: Are you a pantster or plotter?
Ann: I will spend long time, sometimes many months plotting the story in my head. I'll work every angle I can think of, so by the time I sit at the computer to actually write the story, the first draft of the story is basically written.
Me: Where do you write?
Ann: At home, office, kitchen table? Last Spring, Make You Mine, Book 3 in The Rock Gods series hit #1 in Gay Romance, Gay Fiction, and Gay Erotica. This was a first for me and to mark that accomplishment, my husband turned our three-season sun room into a year-round office for me. I picked everything out, cabinets, desk top, etc. This is a nice bright space with a beautiful view, too. I love this spot so much! It is my own personal “happy place”. Before this office became a reality, I was sitting at the kitchen counter staring at my appliances.
Me: Oh that sounds like a dream come true.. Right now, I write in the bedroom on a make-shift custom desk. (by custom I mean it's really an old dresser with drawers on one side and it's cut out on the other side) with two mismatched lamps. Haha! I usually have to rush to the kitchen counter though, several times a day, as the internet gets a better connection there. I'm hoping to see the day when I can design a writing room, I want bookshelves everywhere.. But for now, as long as I'm writing, I'd be happy writing in a closet if that is what it took.
Me: Is there anything you have to do while you write? I have to have music and coffee, lots of coffee.
Ann: I write rock star romance, which means I listen to loud rock music while I write. I try and match the style of music or the tone of the singers to the characters in my head. Sometimes I burn some white sage, too, to set the mood. Lol. I'm not a fan of coffee, but I do enjoy hot chocolate from time to time, but most often it is ice water.... and dark chocolate. I have to have the chocolate while I write!
Me: How did you come up with Rock Gods? The books themselves and the title for the series? Did you know it was going to be a series when you first started?
Ann: The idea for Fall For Me, Book 1 in the series hit me hard and fast (much like the lives of my rock star characters!) and it was just so damn visual in my head! I didn't need to percolate that story in my head for months on end. In fact, I had the idea formulated, and the first draft written in three months. It's never happened that fast for me. The characters were well defined to me and that had me thinking “series” right from the start. I started with Dagger Drummond from Black Ice, but the characters in the secondary band, Ivory Tower, started talking to me first and much louder. That gave me the story ideas for all the guys in Ivory Tower. With the Spring release of Book 5, Meant For Me, I will have concluded the stories for Ivory Tower. Book 6 will start the stories for the men in Black Ice. Each title has a deeper meaning to the main characters, it might be part of their personalities, or something along those lines. Most of my book titles have double meanings. As for the name of the series itself, fans of rock bands look at the performers as gods, larger than life, and since my characters are in the rock genre, it made perfect sense to me to call them Rock Gods.
Me: Do you have one character that just sort of took over and made himself the boss of the others? (Shhh…asking because I have one that did that in my Passion Series. I’m just needing to check my sanity level here)
Ann: I think that honor is shared equally by Dagger and Alex. They're both lead singers for their bands and both are very vocal on and off stage.
Me: What is your favorite scene, like the all-time favorite from all of your books? Can you describe it for us?
Ann: Oh, wow! That is one hell of a question! I'm not sure I could give you just one favorite! I have several scenes that quickly pop into my head that could be called my “favorites”. One is the limo scene in Fall For Me when Dagger and Ryan kiss for the first time. The proposal scene at the end of Make You Mine is another. The scene in Looking At Forever which Rooster loses his mom is powerful, and so on. My favorite scenes are always the ones that pull the biggest emotions from me when I write them, whether it be sadness, arousal, anger, stuff like that. Those scenes rock for a variety of reasons.
Me: I hear you on that, love when a scene does that to me too. In Payce's Passion there was like that.
Me: You write in the M/M genre, is that also your favorite to read or do you prefer something else?
Ann: I'd say 98% of the books I read are M/M, but every once in a while I'll read M/F or a menage story, preferably M/M/F if it is a menage story. Although I like M/F, I don't love it, and there always seems to be something missing for me in those stories. My passion – and obsession is with M/M.
Me: Is there a genre you’d like to try, but haven’t yet?
Ann: I recently had an idea for a F/F story pop into my head. That story is still congealing in my brain, and the characters aren't loud enough for me to sit and “write” their story, yet. Once the characters are ready for me to tell their story, they'll let me know. LOL
Me: Kind of like that? This is exactly what my character, Sparky, did. It's like he walked into every scene and stole the show. It's how he got his own book, there wasn't going to be a part three. Well there wasn't supposed to be a part 2 either though. lol Gotta listen when they scream at you.
Me: What is your best “fan’ moment? Something that a reader said or did that just totally made your day or week?
Ann: Oh, I love when those moments happen! When a reader takes the time to reach out to me to tell me how one of my stories made them feel it is overwhelming and can sometimes bring me to tears. That moment when a reader “gets” your story.... priceless. It makes all those hours of working the story, seven days a week for months on end, worth every mentally exhausting minute.
Me: If you could go back five years and tell yourself something, what would it be?
Ann: Never give up. That sounds like simple advice, but there were so many times early on that I wanted to do just that, and in the end the story won out. Our characters become so real to us, living inside our heads for such a long time and demanding we tell their story. How can you give up on that?
Me: What do you have in the works for us for during 2015?
Ann: Book 5, Mean For Me will release in the Spring, hopefully sometime in May. This is Tony and Jared's friends-to-lovers story. Book 6 is Dante and Ashton's story (from Black Ice). Their story will be a Fall release. I also have a big book signing event in Las Vegas coming up on April 3-5th.
Profound moments with Piper! lol
Is there any thing you’d like to say to your readers, or maybe advice for a new writer?
It is the unrelenting support and love I get from my readers that keeps me sitting in front of my laptop every day, working harder to squeeze out every last drop of emotion to write a better story for them to enjoy. I could never express what their support does for me or how enormously grateful I am to have them! I love them all and without them, I would not be where I am today writing The Rock Gods.
As for advice to new authors, I'd say to write what you love and read as many books as you can in your chosen genre. Also, read the reviews for the books that are in the top ranking slots and the reviews for ones that are not. Read your own reviews and try to learn something even from the less than favorable ones. And finally, be sure to grow a thick skin early on, because no matter how good your stories may be there will always be those that will not like it.
Me: That is so true too. as for the readers and the advice, well said. Thanks so much Ann for stopping by and letting me fire off a few questions at you. Very best of luck on your upcoming release.

Book Five 2015 Coming soon!
Hey everyone. I'm back today with my publishing sister from Hot Ink Press,. Please welcome...
Girl, everytime I see your name around the internet, I want to break out and sing
Naughty Boys "La-La-La" In fact, lets do that now.
Hush, don't speak
blah, blah, -hmm,
because I don't know all the words except the next part
I'm covering my ears like a kid
When your words mean nothing I go la-la-la
Alrighty then. Lol. Do you remember last time LaQuette was on with her book Heart of the Matter?
Well, this time she's back with book two. in the Queens of Kings Series.
Your cover guy is just amazing. So sexy, and he even looks all cop-ish. Oh wait, he's not
the cop, he's Kenneth Searlington. He's married to Heart, she's the cop.
Mmmm...he's just .delicious!
No, he's more than delicious.
Let's just say it with pictures instead.
Now, let's check out this blurb.
She broke his heart…to rebuild his soul.
The last two years of Heart MacKenzie Searlington’s life have been a constant forward motion of change. She’s been promoted to NYPD captain of the seventy-fourth precinct in Brooklyn,
a job she never wanted, but is slowly finding her way through with the help of a
dedicated second in command and a house full of exemplary officers.
Married to the sexy and powerful mogul, Kenneth Searlington, Heart is living all of the
dreams she never knew to ask for before she fell in love with the man that stole her heart. Although Kenneth bathes her in his love and devotion,
insecurities from the past still haunt her and cast a dark veil over their union.
Kenneth Searlington knows only one thing, he worships his wife. He has a singular purpose:
to love her as hard as he can for the rest of their lives
and to neutralize any threat that dares to come up against them. But how does he protect them when that threat comes from the woman he loves?
Thrown by a devastating loss, Heart allows pain and despair to drive a wedge so large
between them they may never be able to recover. Pushed beyond his limits, excluded and
taken for granted, Kenneth has to decide whether to allow darker urges to control him, or to use his rage to fight for the one thing he adores, Heart.
Can they mend the rift, or will a divided heart end their legendary love?
Get 'em, Go Kenneth, fight for your girl. A left, and a right,,,jab. Jab, watch your footwork, now swing,
knock em out, knock 'em out for you wife. Get rid of that threat.
Me: Welcome back girl, I'm so excited for you, LaQuette. I have to tell you, it has been a complete pleasure watching you come into this. I've enjoyed the ride from the passenger seat, but it seems not so long ago we were discussing all the “what if’s, ands or buts, even a few what are’s” were involved with writing and publishing. Can you tell me, has anything changed in your life since the last time you were here in the hot seat? ~winks and grins~
LaQuette Thank you for letting me through the door again. Lol I think the main difference between now and then is that some people actually recognize my name. Let me tell you, that so trips me out.
Getting messages from readers sharing their thoughts and feelings regarding my work,
I can’t even describe that feeling. It’s also very trippy when people who I fangirl over give me
that, “hey girl, I know you’re work or your name” wink. Kindle Alexander told me she had Heart of the Matter on her Kindle and I swear my heart stopped. Hell, she may never even read it, but the fact that it rests on her Kindle, damn, just awesome.
Me: That's too cool, isn't it? And yay about Kindle having it on her kindle-lol There is one thing a little different, but it's wonderful news to hear as well. You are now an international best selling author. Congratulations on that. To rank in the romance genre isn't easy, it's where the majority of authors live and the competition is fierce., but you also ranked in the IR sections multiple times. Woo Hoo! Are you feeling a little more confident about this book now because of it? Have the pre-release jitters, calmed down? Was this book harder or easier than the first one?
It's the 2nd time around, you got this, you're a pro.
LaQuette: Pardon my French, but hell no! It’s worse. Conceptually this book was much more difficult to create, not to mention I was very worried about living up to the reception of Heart of the Matter. I never expected that book to be a best-seller. Having that happen so early in my career was of course an amazing feat that I am so humbled by and so proud of. However, it also made me second-guess everything I wrote after it. Every line made me question if people would hate it or criticize it harshly. It finally got to the point where my husband had to remind me you write what your heart tells you, stop worrying about what folks will say about it. They’re going to tell you what they think anyway, so just deal with it when it comes. I love that man.
Me: I think I love your husband too., what awesome advice and support. My readers are that for me., maybe I should marry them . lol So, the gorgeous and cocky Heart, and hottie Kenneth are back and I wonder what they can get into this time,. ~looks for nearest bedroom~ Those two know how to heat up a room together. If you had to pick just one scene, what was your favorite between the two of them and why?
LaQuette: Yes, they are back with the second installment called, Divided Heart from the Queens of Kings series. Umm, there might be a scene in the basement that just does it for me. It’s something about these Searlington’s in that basement of theirs that just gets my writer and lady juices flowing. Lol
Just like a warm waterfall, the fluids gushed over the hardening swell as .. Oh. Ahem. ~chokes~ Hello again. The rocks at the edge of the cliff I mean... ~sits up straight and serious~
Me: Will there be a part three in this series?
LaQuette: While my editor was working on Divided Heart, she just informed me that whether I wanted to write a part three or not, that I will be writing a third book in Queens of Kings series because she wants to read a third book. I guess I don’t have much choice in the matter. Making an editor angry is just not a smart move. Lol
Me: No that is not a very good move at all. Well yay to a book three. lol
Me: I have one last question, then were going to post your
excerpt and links. What can we expect from you this year, 2015?
LaQuette: Hopefully more quality work, that’s my goal, to try new things, and grow as a writer. I’m still learning, and soaking things up. I may actually be making strides to start on that M/M romance that’s been dancing in my head. There may be some collaborations with some writer-friends of mine. Haven’t worked out all the kinks on that one yet, so for now it’s just something that may possibly be on the horizon. I am definitely about to start my next story. I’m aiming to put out at least 3-4 books this year. I don’t know for certain that it will happen, but I want to be like my big lit sister, Piper Kay and have my readers’ tongues wagging in anticipation for the next piece.
Me: Heaven, I'm in heaven.
OMG. You just made my day with your M/M comment and the big lit sis one too. ~squeeee~! I'm so excited, and I cannot wait. I have no doubts that you'll be amazing with it. Thanks again for coming by and see you on the next one
Okay, excerpt below, then links at the end. Make sure you check on the latest Naughty News and things around the site.
Heart took a shaky breath when Kenneth was announced the winner. She didn’t know if she should shake him or thank him, he’d both saved her and thrown a monkey wrench in her investigation as well.
She stepped toward the end of the stage and waited as he offered a helping hand to her. She took careful steps down the stairs and felt the burn of the skin of his hand connecting with her palm.
When they reached the center of the dance floor she heard the first straining beats of Trey Songz “Na Na.” By the time Trey asked if they were fucking tonight, she and Kenneth were grinding against each other with determined movements.
God, the slide of his body was making her clit throb with a nasty ache. She needed this fucking assignment to be over so she could slide down the beautiful cock that was currently pressed up against her resting perfectly in the fissure of her rounded ass.
He placed one strong hand flat against her abdomen while the fingertips of the other skated down the length of her arm until she felt blunt fingertips caress hers, locking their fingers together in a beautiful latticework of brown and cream digits.
He pressed his mouth to her ear and the warmth of his breath seeped through her skin and into her blood, igniting a chaotic boil inside her. He nipped at her ear and whispered one word that made her forget about all of the people watching them, the operation, and anything else that didn’t directly relate to the fire he was stoking between them.
“Mine,” was all he said and her mind blanked out, and all she knew was him: her man, her husband, her anchor.
This moment wasn’t about the case, it was about the way the two of them connected, had always connected, on a primal and visceral level. She fell into step with him and let him lead her around that dance floor. His moves were powerful and made her ache to be beneath him in their bed, or up against a wall. Either would do at this moment, she just needed this man.
He turned her to face him; she plastered herself against him, his thigh between hers, her riding it trying to get more friction. Just a little more pressure and she could probably fall over the edge into bliss. Just a little more…
She felt herself fall back. Kenneth anchored her by keeping a secure grip on her neck. She leaned into it and let her body shake, dip, and roll against the solid strength of his body. God she was there, just a few more movements of her hips and she could find completion. She was a horny, craven bitch tonight, and she didn’t have one stitch of shame about it.
She felt him pull her back to him, burying his face in her neck, and kissing his way back up to her ear.
“I could fuck you right here. And I bet you would let me,” he surmised. “I can tell how close you are right now.” He held her tighter, changing the angle against her clit, removing some of the pressure. “No, not here,” he said and her body trembled with want. “I will not let the people in this fucking room witness the beautiful sight of you coming for me. That shit is mine and mine alone. You’re going to finish this fucking thing you’ve got going on tonight, then you’re going to bring your ass home and let me bury myself so deep in this fucking pussy you’ll be walking gingerly for the next week.”
He bit down on the sensitive flesh that covered her shoulder forcing another involuntary shudder to charge through her body.
“Do you understand me?”
The music stopped then. With glaring silence filling the room, she was able to find the will to shake her head free of some of the fog Kenneth had poured over her mind. He held tight to the back of her neck forcing her to stand in the full onslaught of his powerful gaze. She realized then that his question hadn’t been rhetorical, he expected an actual answer.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and placed a gentle kiss on his cheek and whispered one word in his ear.
He ran his hand across the expanse of one of her ass cheeks and gripped it firmly, making certain his stamp of ownership would remain there long after this dance was finished. He nodded his acceptance of her answer. He looked over her shoulder and nodded, and then he stepped out of her embrace.
He plastered that cocky ass grin he’d been wearing when she’d first met him. The one that said, “I’m certain I’ll be fucking you soon,” then turned and walked out with Alan in tow. If she didn’t love him so damn much, she was sure she could hate that man.
She stiffened as the haze he’d created cleared her mind and she came to a startling realization. Dammit, the fucking mic was on to my earwig the whole fucking time. Shit, I’m fucked in so many ways.
A native of Brooklyn, New York, LaQuette spends her time catering to her three distinct personalities: Wife, Mother, and Educator. Writing--her escape from everyday madness--has always been a friend and comforter. She loves writing and devouring romance novels. Although she possesses a graduate degree in English Lit, she'd forego Shakespeare any day to read something hot, lusty, and romantic.
She loves hearing from readers and discussing the crazy characters that are running around in her head causing so much trouble. Contact her on Facebook, Twitter, her website, Amazon, and her Facebook group, LaQuette's Lounge.

Hey everyone, welcome to the blog.. This post is going to be a little different, so just have a little patience please. You're stuck with me. No seriously, we removed the escape key when you came in because I have something important to tell you. Ready?
~takes a deep breath~
It happened to me. It's something that happens every day to lots of other people, but two days ago it wasn't those other people, it was me.
I'm a little depressed about it really, and a whole lot lost over it. And am I angry, hell yes.! So instead of just blurting it out, I'll walk you through how it happened. But first this.
Thursday January 23, 2015
As usual, it all started out as just another Thursday. What do I do on Thursdays those that know me? I work, like I do every single day of the week, so nothing new there. That particular day, I happened to be working on a blurb. Now let me knock out the technical stuff in these next two sections first.
What is a blurb?
A blurb is basically the promo piece that goes hand in hand with a creative piece. It can be put just about anywhere. Back cover of book, promo posters, used in blogs, book trailers, or wherever you decide. Now a blurb has been called many things other than a blurb. Some examples are: Satan. Lucifer, the Devil, Devil's child, Son of a bitch, PITA, Evil bastard, etc..
What does a blurb do?
A blurb is sort of like the bouncer at a bar, but opposite. It doesn't try to break up the fight, instead it manhandles you straight to the center ring and drops you into a place I like to call Hell. In Hell, you are forced to shred your book apart by taking all of the contents from within the covers of your three hundred something page book, and cram it into a foreign spot, where thing were never meant to go.
Your whole book in a few sentences.
It's the ultimate nightmare. I actually nicknamed mine Krueger.
Anyway, on with the story...
So, I decide to get a drink, calm down and have a go at it again. After tripping over the seventeen hundred pieces of wadded up paper on the floor, I decide I need to discuss this situation with someone plus some more someones who get it.
Now where does everyone go to socialize?
Yes, a social network. site. So off I go to the group I created for like minded people with similar interests. Other authors, just like me. It's a common place to get together when needed. This particular group is for for M/M collaborations and business type things. Announcements, or maybe someone has a question. You know, just to get together and share interests since they're so similar and maybe watch, I mean, discuss things, author to author.
Anyway, I make the ultimate attempt at socializing and post a teenie weenie little rant
about Krueger, then begin reading through things on the page. It was a very mild. In my anticipation for a reply, the excitement about socializing takes hold of me. I mean, I'm really needing to socialize bad at that point. Suddenly, a comment comes through. I practically peed myself. I immediately stopped what I was doing just to sing praises.
I hurry as fast as I can to my post that I made, in the group that I started, to read it. While doing this, several other socializers made their way on to the post too. Now I'm just guinea,
no wait. Ginny, guinea, oh it's giddy. I'm all giddy.
Overjoyed, I decided to just throw hands to the air and go for it, live life on the wild side.
I replied to the comments left on my post in my group. Get this., and some people think I'm dull.
I even did it more than once. or twice.
I socialized three times, in public, and even hashtagged that baby too.
Didn't know I had it in me, did you?
Yup, sure do. Look at me go, I'm doing exactly what FB
is all about, socializing. And I'm doing it in boxes provide for comments and replies. I am in complete compliance with their standard operating procedures. No risky behavior, I wasn't engaging in things they discuss in their behavior connection article either.
So...~tears up~ give me a moment please
Okay, I apologize. ~clears throat~
Imagine my shock and utter dismay when I left the group and it happened. I know this is
hard to look at, but it has to be shown. It's time for this to be seen.
I'm so, so, very sorry, but you'll thank me one day.
Huh? Pending, restricted. Pending, restricted...sentence handed down on a pending notice. Huh?
My knees grew weak, if it weren't for the fact that I was already sitting down, I would have been standing....and then falling. Yes my knees were that weak, I felt them give way. as I sat there.
In between the confusion and mixed emotions of it saying pending, as it hands down a decision
at the same time, I almost fainted.
Don't the FB dieties know that I'm not a rule breaker, how could they not? In the very beginning months I joined, I had one violation, just one and it was merely a misunderstanding. A simple error on my behalf, I take full responsibility, I'm an adult, even though it was just the slip of a finger four times hitting the F key first.
Not once have I ever been contacted by them since then.
The questions are flooding through my brain almost drowning me, I'm confused. Maybe it was a hallucination caused by the onset of a panic attack from that lovely message. This means I'll be out of contact with my family and friends, because they all live inside my computer.. They're all tucked away in a group, where they are protected from the outside influences and temptations of the FB world. Then it dons on me.
My job, how will I do my job without my research. I have to have my research
at all costs. I love researching. It makes me smile. See...
Oh God, this is horrible. How am I supposed to reach anyone at all
What if FB travels outside of normal FB boundaries and crosses realms onto the web affecting my biggest source of entertainment, I mean research..
OMG... I can't breathe. No, I mean really, right now, as I type this. Just thinking
about it cuts off the oxygen supply. It did the same the other day too. ~grabs paperbag~
It's entirely possible, I mean, I'm banned without a cause or reason why, so why not that too?
THEN my mind is off in another direction, yanking me along as a hostage.
This reminds me how FB employees are still getting paid. They will receive their check for banning me in groups. They will receive their pay, whether they answer the message I sent them asking if they could be so kind as to offer at least a reason why I was banned.
Did I violate some standard guideline? Did my finger slip again, no because that only happened
after I received their message.
Or are they big bullies going around targeting whomever they want like Indians on the warpath for no apparent reason and not offering any kind of explanation whatsoever.
Are we peons that are just supposed to do nothing about this kind of treatment, except take it? Pretend it didn't happen, ignore it, make excuses for it, blame others for trolling us when they weren't involved?
Take it like a man?
Well I can;t do that, because I'm not a man...yet. That my next life, so I can't possibly take it like a man yet.
Am I supposed to starve to death because FB started a chain of events, each one causing a subsequent reaction by cutting off groups, spreading to the web, and taking over? Making me lose my research, which in turn means my job, and without that, I starve to death, as do my children and does my family and friends in my group because I can't get to them anymore., and my only chance is to scrap for crumbs? While FB employees still get paid and are probably dining on grilled Filet Mignon?
Well I say Heck NO!
I think we need to ban together and unite. Let's sit sexy and stand strong, and most important, let's start with me so I don't die. In fact, let's have a jail break for me and make a difference.
I haven't even started on the part about how this all happened an hour before my live author chat over at Bike Book Reviews yet. they so kindly invited me, I accepted and everything was set to go, until I got to the page and could no longer comment or post. Thank goodness Bec and Mike are such good peeps and the followers of the page ROCK and my readers, well they're the best, but none the less, I was still frazzled. The nerves that were fried behind this sudden addition to my punishment, was a direct result to popping veins from my blood pressure skyrocketing to the moon. I feel hospital bills coming on, expensive hospital bills at that gosh darn it. What about even after that, how I was apparently banned yet again from the entire event, couldn't even see it, then again from even leaving a comment in a group.
All this happening because I get a pending notice with a cut off date for a violation that never came and I am still clueless about.
You, yes you reading this, can help with just a small donation of research materials to my dropbox and by standing up for those of us in FB lockup, and having a look at the petition below. Signing it will at least let them know we are not happy about it. I forget who started it, bt I'm glad they did because FB really needs to look at what they are doing to people.
Thank you, this long winded rant brought to you as a direct result of me being pissed the hell off. These stripes make me look heavier than I really am, and your food sucks. You could have left me out there to starve at least. I demand a refund.. Oh wait, wrong FB issue. You don't charge for this. service. I apologize. That issue is a completely different rant. That's the rant about FB hiding our posts on pages and making us pay to be seen instead. It's coming and I'll have a near death experience in that one too. Just sayin'.

Today in Playhouse, we have an awesome guest. This lady is one of the coolest and most supportive people I've met. Let's all give Rain Carrington a hand, to welcome her.
Well, let's just jump right into these interview questions because I'm rather anxious to see the answers, especially the last one. ~snickers~!
When did you start writing? And what did you write?
I started writing really bad, sappy poetry when I was a teenager. I was hoping to one day turn them into song for the kick ass heavy metal band I was planning to be the lead singer of….then I heard my own singing voice. It was scary. In my twenties I started writing short stories then took a long time off to do the kid and husband thing. Now that I’m an old lady, I can finally do what I like and I like writing sexy stories of man on man. How far I’ve come! LOL
Rain the rockstar, that is too cool! I made my own baby cry when I sang, so I don't do that anymore. I was damn good in the shower too. SWEAR I am not lying,
Okay, I may be wrong here (Hey, on rare occassions it does happen-HA!) but I could have sworn I read somewhere, maybe another blog, that you have an entire library of unpublished works. Is that true? If so, we want some details woman.
I do have a few I wrote for the writing sights where I got started this time around and yes, about four of them will be cleaned up and published soon. The first I wrote, my first M/M anyway, is called Cabin Fever and will be out HOPEFULLY about March or April. The other will drip and come (wow that sounded bad! LOL) during the next year or so. The new characters in my head take priority since they never let me sleep!
You are a hard core activist, yay you. Can you tell us about the different levels and/or platforms you’re involved with?
I used to be a lot more hard core. Since I can’t get around too well anymore, I am now doing things from home. I make calls, donate, and spread the word for LGBT causes as much as I can. AIDS research is a big one for me, lgbtq youth, like the Trevor Project. I am also a “crazy liberal” so I am on the phones and computer getting the word out about my candidates, bills, voting, you name it. I can be terribly obnoxious LOL
What is your favorite fan/reader moment so far?
When one of my readers told me that while she was on bedrest with her pregnancy, reading my stories were the only reason she didn’t go insane! That was priceless! I have so many, though. My readers humble me and carry me through DAILY with their support and encouragement. I could never do this without them.
I completely understand that, 100%, and you are so right. I can't tell you how many times someone has privately messaged me and said 'thank you' or 'is this normal to really like reading M/M' There is still that stigmatism where it's concerned and that pre-conceived notion about it. It's why I give away so many books, well ebooks. Some readers have told me I was there first M/M read and it wasn't anything like they thought, but they would have never read it if they didn't win or get it free. I just respond with "thanks, I'm just chalking up another notch on the old bedpost" Hahaha.
So, on December 7th, your newest story, Turquoise, was released. Would you mind telling us a little about it?
Well, it’s my first heavy duty tear jerker. I didn’t mean it to be, but that is how it took me. It starts out on the Jicarilla Indian Reservation where a 13 yr old boy, Angel, is watching his mother marrying his best friend’s brother. He wasn’t thrilled at the idea and neither was his best friend, Garcia, who was in love with him. They didn’t want to feel related to one another. At that time they share their first kiss. Later, Angel decides he wants to go to school in another state and Garcia tried to keep him there by revealing his feelings. Angel left anyway and starts on a seven year sojourn finding himself and discovering that the world outside of the rez isn’t as glamorous and wonderful as he thought. He comes home after a tragedy and his boyhood friends along with Garcia help him to get back to the confident person he was back before he left. It’s a story of friendship, lasting, true love, and coming back from the brink to find that real love never stops waiting.
Oh wow! RAWR! Uh oh, ummm, excuse me. Congratulations to you on your newest release, Rain. ~note to self-get this book~
Now for the Q & A that I was waiting for. lol
Well, let’s do this. LET’S TALK BOOK COVERS. Alright, so you may or may not have noticed that I have a thing about book covers. I love my own and I noticed that you have some hot one's too. Want to tell us about them? I know two are gay porn stars, not that I know anything whatsoever about gay porn mind you. But who doesn't know Jesse Colter and Rocco Steele, everyone does. So spill it, how did it happen?
My favorite subject? Rocco Steele? SWOON! LOL Well, one day on twitter, a friend retweeted a friend follow that Boomer Banks had tweeted. It was to follow a star in the making, Rocco Steele. I saw him and absolutely loved his eyes. These blue eyes that just tear inside of you and stay there. AND his smile too, what a gorgeous smile. Well I followed him and this was after I’d had Jesse Colter on a cover, so as I was thinking of my new story, I thought about those eyes, those arms, chest, all of him and a character came to me. Bobby Dawes came from Rocco, the looks, voice, sex. Of course he isn’t exact, Rocco isn’t a truck driver, and he isn’t from New Mexico, but the embodiment is there. The sweetness, real man qualities his fans love about him is what I tried to capture in Bobby.
I was so nervous I could have puked, but I sent him an email to ask if I could please use his image on a cover. Pushing send on that email…wow. I haven’t been that nervous since I had to tell my mother I was preggers when I was 18! LOL Well, what did you know, but he wrote back the same day and said not only would he do it, but he’d be honored. I squealed, ran around the house in my hobbling way, screeched, laughed and then sent him back an email. From there we emailed back and forth discussing the picture and the rest was history. Getting to know him, even that little bit showed me that he’s a really great person. I got so many of my facebook friends to fall for him as well, and to this day we fight over him constantly. Then my first year anniversary was coming so I decided to have a little facebook party. I had no clue but my terrific friend, Kristy, asked him to do a video for it. When the party started and Kristy posted it, I cannot tell you how much I smiled and cried all at once. It was the best thing EVER! But that is the kind of man he is, to do that for someone. He also jumped right on tweeting a promo for the charity project some authors and I were doing for Christmas. We talk now and then and each time he manages to make me smile and cry. Whoever coined the term DaddyRealness for him was right on, because he is real, gorgeous and wonderful. I could go on and on but it would be gushy as HELL! LOL
That is too cool, and I understand all of those feelings, I did the same things with mine too. LMAO at the part about hitting send. I was actually just as nervous messaging mine, as I was when I hit send on my first submission to a publisher. Who knew that one little button would be the hardest of all.
